- weight per bale = 400kgs – 500kgs
Numerous hay export packaging options are available from The HullMac Company for any size animal feed operation anywhere in South Africa. Small farms, dairies, and trading companies might prefer the double-compressed full or half-cut bales. Large dairy farms, distribution companies and government programs might prefer log bales or big bales.
- Mag Bale Sleeve (450Kg) 4, 8, or 16 cut
- Log Bale (112.5Kg)
- Full Bale (56.25Kg)

The MAG-Bale sleeve is available in 4-cut, 8-cut, or 16-cut configuration and consists of four (4) 250lb (112.5Kg) logs inside one sleeve. One log bale cut in half produces two (2) full bales. Likewise, one full bale cut in half produces two (2) half-cut bales.
Regardless of hay export package, all bales are held together with poly strap or sleeve material. There are absolutely no metals used in the package to help ensure the safety of animals.

Processed bales may be packaged 8, 12, or 20 full bale equivalent units. This allows for ease of storage, handling, and resale at destination. The hay export packaging stretch film is designed to keep the specified number of bales together and provide marginal protection from the elements. G-PAC is available for log bales, full bales, and half-cut bales according to customer preference.
Natural Press Bales
All hay is exported at near-harvest quality by using the latest in export processing technology. No chopping! No thrashing! No blending! Just naturally pressed hay loaded into the container and exported to add the most value.
THE RIGHT WAY
Compressed Bales
HullMac forage products are compressed into bales that allow for easy and efficient handling. State of the art compressing facilities allow HullMac to efficiently process forage crops to give consumers maximum return on investments.
Our production facility is equipped with 2 self designed, patented presses.
Jumbo Bale Press
This press is set up to accept chopped product to produce a 430kg compressed bale in a sleeve. This bale is preferred by many large farms that incorporate these bales into total mixed rations (TMR). This facility is set up to allow for the mixing of product to create custom blends of timothy and alfalfa.
Big Bale Press
The Big bale press is designed to accept large 4×4 or 3×4 bales. These bales are sliced and compressed in a fully automated press that is capable of producing at a rate up to 24 Metric tonnes per hour. Output bales are cut into smaller bales through a cutter box to the size preferred by the end user.
Bale sizes
After compressing, the following bales are available:
- Jumbo bale: 420-430kg
- Small bales: 30kg, 40kg, 60kg & 120kg
Through these state of the art compression technologies, HM is able to load up to 26 Metric tons per 40’ container. This leads to fewer costs for the customer because of the ability to maximize the volume per container.
Quarter Cut:
- size – ( 55cm x 42cm x 30cm )
- weight per bale = 20kgs – 30kgs
-
Oat hay
